This week at Kyuzo we’ve got a great one going on. Our Spring Camp with World Champion Fellipe Andrew. Fellipe has a relationship with Kyuzo that stretches back to 2019 and his first visit here. What an opportunity!
Imagine any other sport having this? Imagine Roger Federer winning Wimbledon and then showing up at your local tennis club to teach a masterclass? Imagine Leo Messi hopping off the plane in Buenos Aires, doing a quick interview in the airport lobby with the World Cup beside him, and then nipping down to his old team to coach the amateurs for a week?
It is something unique to our sport because the fighters share the same mat as the amateurs. They’re interlinked at club level, no one has ever treated them like a superstar. My mate tells a great story about having a Pan Am and Brasileiros champion in for a few classes, and after the class the guy was the first man with a mop in his hand cleaning the mats.
That’s the humility of Jiu Jitsu people and that’s why we have a World Champ on the mats tonight, sparring with white belts.
We’ll be training with the following schedule all week. Please note that kids classes are unaffected.
Camp Sessions- 7-8.30pm
Monday- Gi
Tuesday- NoGi
Wednesday- Gi
Thursday- NoGi
Saturday- 12.30pm- 3hr seminar
For anyone who can’t afford the camp price, please contact Sean (whatsapp 083-4259066) as we have several payment options. We want everyone to experience this!
I’m as excited about opportunities and seminars like this as I was when I forst started learning Jiu Jitsu!
See you on the mat!
