New Blue and Purple Belts At Kyuzo

We had our belt test on Saturday, and I got to promote some new blue belts and a new purple belt!

Congrats to our new blue belts Will, Wes, P.J., Dara, and Graham. And special congratulations to our new Purple belt Darragh, aka Red Ned.

When you get a new belt in Jiu Jitsu, you’re being rewarded for your hard work and skill development over the course of your months or years of training.

And the significance of getting that belt is up to you. For some people, it’s just a small thing. You trained, you learned, you got something in return.

For others, it can be a massive achievement. You might have got into this martial art for the craic, or to lose weight, or to learn self defence. And it might have been a really difficult thing for you to do initially.

Now look at you! A blue belt! On the pathway to being a black belt.

You took the time to invest in yourself. In your physical health, in your mental health, in your skills, and this is a symbol of that.

Well done once again. Here’s a video of the presentations. In case it hasn’t come across already, I love doing this part of coaching!

See you on the mat!

Barry
