Belt Test Day
We're heading towards the end of the year, which can only mean one thing!
Belt Test Day!
I think it's important that your promotion to your new stripe or your new belt should have a sense of ceremony to it. After all, if you've been training to get a new belt, you'll have put at least 2 years work into it, so why not get conferred with your new belt in front of all of your team mates?
But it does mean different things to different people. When you get your belt, it can be a major achievement, or, it can be just something that happened one day. Both are equally valid responses!
After all, if you started Jiu Jitsu after a successful sporting career, getting a Blue Belt probably doesn't mean too much.
But, if you started Jiu Jitsu after a long period of doing nothing, perhaps as a fitness or life goal, the Blue Belt can mean an awful lot to you.
This Saturday, we do it all again! We start at 12.30pm and the guys will do a 45 minute Shark Tank to test their skills and fortitude, and then a 20 minute technical test to examine their knowledge of Jiu Jitsu.
Be prepared! And come along even if it's not your day. It's a fun day for the club and everyone gets involved!
See you on the mat on Saturday!
