How to Spar Jiu Jitsu Properly [VIDEO]

This blog is a follow on to this article in which I wrote about How to Spar Properly in Jiu Jitsu.

I sat down to write this at 9.30am, and by 11am I gave up. It was just too long and meandering. So I recorded a video and all in all it took 10 minutes. Now I feel like I wasted my morning, but these things happen.

Here’s me expanding on how to spar, and how a good training environment is cooperative. Does that mean it’s not competitive? No. The competition is built in to Jiu Jitsu. It just has to walk that line and neither tip over into hyper-competitiveness or become overly passive. That’s a coaches job.
