Kyuzo Kids at the 2026 Irish Open
We had a big team of kids out at the 2026 Irish Open this weekend. We are so proud of each and every one of them and their efforts, sportsmanship, and behaviour. Not only did we take home a whole bag full of medals, we also took home brilliant experiences that will help every kid for life!
Sometimes it's about winning, but sometimes it's about facing your fears. Everyone feels nerves before a tournament, so facing them and still doing it helps kids understand that they can feel fear and do it anyway! Well done to all of the kids who took on the challenge!

There are a few stages of competition for our kids. We're not about making mini-Terminators. We want them to have fun, gain experience, and smile no matter what the result. It's all about honesty of effort, and once we have that, we can have everything in good time.

A special mention for Jack Daly, who has been with us since he was 4. Yesterday he won Gold in Gi and NoGi, his first time doing so. He's an Irish Open champ 4 times over, but was disappointed to not get to fight last year when his opponent pulled out. This year he had 4 matches, winning all by submission.
We have some new medals in Kyuzo, but we've also got some great lessons to work on. This is the Jiu Jitsu way. Always learning, always developing.
Thanks to all of the parents for their trust and support.
On to the next one!
